MEET THE NJAEL BOARD OFFICERS
Dr. Jeanene Dutt
NJAEL President
Dr. Jeanene Dutt is the Superintendent of North Warren Regional School District. She is also a consultant for Becoming Your Best Global Leadership and the Founder of Lead By Design LLC. She regularly presents at national conferences and is engaged by schools to lead professional development with faculty and staff. As cochair of the professional development committee for NJAEL, Dr Dutt has helped contribute to the organization’s vision. Dr. Dutt is actively involved in many local and state associations. She is the Founder and President of the Warren-Hunterdon WIEL, and re-established the Warren-Hunterdon County PSA, serving as President for 5 years. She was also a member of the Council and Board of Directors for NJPSA. Dr. Jeanene Dutt serves as NJAEL’s President.
Dr. Matthew Beck
NJAEL Vice President
Dr. Matthew Beck, is the Superintendent of Sparta in Sussex County. His experience leading organizations of school leaders includes serving as the President of the Sussex County Superintendents Roundtable Association through the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently earning the 2021 Sussex County Superintendent of the Year award. The growth of the New Jersey Association of Educational Leaders will be essential to supporting educational leaders throughout New Jersey, and I look forward to working together to enhance our great organization’s mission. Dr. Matthew Beck serves as NJAEL’s Vice President.
Dr. Nicole Shanklin
NJAEL Secretary
Ms. Shanklin serves as NJAEL’s Secretary. She also co-chairs the Professional Development and Networking Committee. Through her involvement in this committee, she has had the pleasure of working alongside many great leaders and educators already, and she looks forward to continuing to expand NJAEL’s networking and professional development opportunities in the future. Outside of NJAEL, she is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Belleville Public School District. She holds a Master of Arts in English from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from William Paterson University. Ms. Shanklin is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about education. She appreciates your consideration, and with your support, she looks forward to helping shape the future of NJAEL!
Dr. Michael Nicosia
NJAEL Treasurer
Dr. Mike Nicosia serves as the Vice President of Client Services for Genesis Educational Services, a role he transitioned into following a distinguished career in public school administration. His decision to move into the private sector was driven by a commitment to supporting the “backbone” of New Jersey’s schools, ensuring districts possess the operational infrastructure and data-driven tools necessary to thrive. Previously the Superintendent of Bloomingdale Public Schools, Dr. Nicosia is a seasoned leader who spearheaded the successful passage of a $22 million referendum, personally directing the project’s marketing and public relations.
An active leader in statewide education, Dr. Nicosia serves on the Executive Committee of the Passaic County Superintendents Association and remains a dedicated mentor to school leaders on safety, community partnerships, and business operations. He is proud to serve in an acting capacity for NJASL, furthering his mission to empower and advocate for school leaders across the state.
